NATIONAL MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY SANTIAGO-CHILE

Collaborated with the National Museum of Natural History Santiago and Fundacion Mar Adentro on Chile's first seaweed exhibition. Documented, digitization, and reviewed over 100 species to create a reference index, accompanied by curated artworks from various artists, scientists, marine biologists, and museographers.

EXHIBITION AT THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY
SANTIAGO-CHILE

Brown, red and green seaweeds, as well as sounds under the sea brought to the surface, were part of the exhibition ‘They will survive the tides, the centuries and the dreams: Sensory approaches to seaweeds’.
An exhibition that explores the socio-ecological value of seaweeds from Antarctica, Juan Fernández Archipelago, Rapa Nui and Continental Chile. We show more than 100 years of history of the Marine Seaweed Collection of the Herbarium of the National Museum of Natural History in Santiago. Together with the collection and taxonomy work of biologist María Eliana Ramírez, as well as digitalised specimens.
Work with Fundación Mar Adentro and Archivo de las Algas
In the same way, the works of the artists Elizabeth Burmann, Nicholas Jackson and Rodrigo Ríos Zunino were shown, who invited us to broaden our perspectives on algae in their sensorial and poetic dimensions.
